The first of the monthly singles nights is on Wednesday 18th November from 20.30 for 21.00hrs. The cost is just £10, which can be paid on the night in the restaurant / lounge area and NOT the leisure centre reception. The evening is aimed at Single Professionals over 30.

There will be Salsa and Ceroc dancing, board games (for people who don't like dancing or who want a different fun "icebreaker"), a chill out coffee area where you can sit on comfy sofas and chat, and of course a long bar for people to congregate at and to mingle.

The Together Network helps the Charity PSP Association

The Together Network are always keen to help local Northamptonshire Charities and tonight was not exception!

PSP based in Towcester, Northants were our chosen charity tonight. This little known disease sadly attacks more people it is thought than cancer, but is often misdiagnosed. Progressive Supranuclear Palsy symptoms include backward falls and problems with vision and is often mistaken for Parkinson's, Stroke, Alzhimer's, Motor Neurone Disease and Depression.

Dudley Moore and Nigel Dempster were both diagnosed and died of this degenerative brain disease. Please help us to make more people aware of PSP.

The PSP Association is the only UK charity dedicated to helping people with PSP and CBD. With the PSP Association Head Office based in Northamptonshire, we at the Together Network are only too pleased to help "spread the word".

Rocky and Barbara were our surprise entertainment of the evening. They gave us a fabulous exhibition of salsa dancing and then got everyone up and doing La Mamba! Everyone had to introduce themselves and it was a great way to get to know everyone!

Guys that would not have dreamed of dancing before were up having great fun with everyone! No more propping up the bar for them!

"Love was definately in the air as we took a stroll around this pretty lake. Even the rain stayed away, as we chatted and laughed. Martin and Diane are as much smitten with one another as when they first met at this very same singles event held this time last year.

Diane was presented with a pretty plant. We gave the happy couple a lovely card signed by all of us at this singles event and ate Anniversay cake and drank bubbly in thier honour! Martins gift was... Diane of course!

We all had such a lovely time... including the very beautiful red and green frog! Remember ladies you may have to kiss a few frogs to find a prince... at The Together Network all our guys are princes - you just have to get to know them. Some are more shy than others, so always ensure you make the effort to talk to everyone!"

Bowling..and the Disappointment of Love...

Sunday Night 19th July saw us all having a fabulous time bowling in Wellingborough. For some of us it was our first time...do you remember you first time?

We laughed and joked as we tried to answer the quiz questions, in between trying to knock all the pins down! Trying to put the correct fingers in the holes of the ball wasn't easy! John won of course, as he is soo... competitive! We came 3rd in the quiz, so did quite well, we thought!

We made great friends this night - eager to meet them again!

But what is is like when you are disappointed, as they guy you liked at a previous event is not there - despite you willing him to be there... Does this spoil your enjoyment or do you realise life is for living and to enjoy yourself anyway!

At The Together Network we are NOT a dating agency or introduction agency, but we do understand the pangs of love...

"Treat them mean and keep them keen!" I hear you say, but is that so easy when you are disappointed that the guy you so want to notice you is not there...

Martin and Diane's Ist Anniversary...

We had a lovely phone call on Tuesday 14 July from Diane, she had heard we were having an evening walk this month at Summer Leys...a lovely country park near Grendon.

Another one of our event venues that possibly you do not know about, or would not think to go to on your own!

I digress... Martin and Diane first met at our walk and picnic at Summer Leys in July last year 2008. Forever the incurable romantics, they would like to join us for this walk to celebrate their first anniversary "together"! Ahhh...

The Together Network would like to wish Martin and Diane a very happy first anniversary. We wish you both good health, luck, love and happiness... Cheers! Here's to the next 10 years!!

We received a very lovely phone call last night... It was from Gary at Wellingborough to say he had just got back form a fabulous 2 week holiday in Spain with Diana.

Thank you Ogo of Creativity and Sence for inviting me to address your delegates at your Feel the Fear Business Conference held last Tuesday 7th July.

It was a great event and everyone enjoyed the networking!

Ogo asked me to tell the audience about The Together Network and how we organise events for singles who live, work or just love Northamptonshire to enjoy our fabulous county of Northants!

Top Tips for Business People when Networking

I was also asked to get people to socialise and network with people they had never met before. I gave the audience the task of finding out 3 things about the person they chose to make contact with, and then this was repeated.

We then discussed what first impression people had of the people they met...Mostly the answer was warmth of personality and eventually the thought was the smile! In surveys the top answer of what we notice first about someone is their smile!!! So please especially when you are meeting some one for the first time - please smile!!!

Another Top Tip

When wanting to look our best we often want to wear new clothes. Clothes that are ill fitting or that have an unusual accessory - shall we say, are often liable to make us distracted and feel uncomfortable...which is very off putting for the person you are with. Please dress appropriately for your meeting and make an effort out of respect to the person or persons you are meeting..but unless that new suit fits like a glove..wear something you know you feel confortable in.

Past Events - Hot Summer of Love

It didn't come much hotter than at The Castle Ashby County Fair we attended on Sunday 5th July.

A convey of cars met up in the laybay just before Brafield on the Green. With up to 15,000 people attending this Northamptonshire event, now in its 28th year...we did not want to miss anyone!

The sun shone brightly. It was a great day for wandering around the stalls and marquees and for watching the events in the arena and also the fabulous horse jumping.

But this was not all the quest of The Together Network Member Guests...

Each person was paired with someone they did not know and given the task of finding out 3 things about them as they wondered "Together" around the show. The questions were set by Loretta our MD, who always attends every event.

Half an hour was given before returning to compare notes and have tea and cake in the marquee. Then off the Members Guests set again...this time with someone else they did not know...the guys were sent off..and the girls were sent off, each finding it so much fun..and of course by the end of the day all these strangers are now firm friends!

So much so Liz has invited them all around to her house for Sunday lunch!

Dogs Life at The Together Network

Riley, Bernie Keith of BBC Radio Northampton's dog, was sitting on Bernies lap complete with his diamante collar, enjoying the show - when I was taken into the studio. For ever wanting to protect his owner, Riley came up to me to give a growl. Secret weapon later of some beef dog chews, and Riley and I were best of friends!

Denise Knowles had already begun her slot with Bernie Keith and was very gracious as she helped me with the microphone and sat me comfortably. The pair of them got me laughing, to alay my nervousness and the interview began.

Why do we think The Together Network is different to any other dating agency, introduction agency or on-line dating website? Well... said I," we are NOT dating agency, introduction agency or on-line dating website. The Together Network want to help singles who live, work or just love Northamptonshire to have a great social life around and about Northants".
